Big Bang has been labeled the "Revolutionary Group of Korean Music Wave"[2] for their unique urban-originated music and fashion style. The members' involvement in composing and producing their own music, most notably G-Dragon's, has earned the group respect and praise from music industry experts.
The group's turning point came with their hit song Lies, which stayed at number one on Korean charts for a record-breaking seven consecutive weeks. Their follow up releases, Hot Issue and Stand Up, furthered their success, spawning hits such as Last Farewell and Haru Haru.[3] From 2007 to 2008, Big Bang received many awards, including "Best Male Group", "Song of the Year", "Artist of the Year", and the Grand Award at the Seoul Music Awards.
The Story of this band :

C’est en décembre 2006, que Big Bang, tient son 1er concert « The Real« . Un concert fructueux puisqu’ils réussisérent à vendre plus de 12 000 places et fin de ce mois sort leur 1er album »BIGBANG VOL.1 Since 2007« . Cet album est une compilation de leur singles sortis précédemments.
De mai à juillet 2007, Big Bang réalise son 1er concert National en Corée, « Want You« .
Surfant sur le succés, le groupe visite au total 5 villes dont tous les
billets de chaques villes ont également été tous vendus.
2007 a aussi apporté des activités de solo pour certain membre du groupe tel que Tae Yang (dû à son perfectionnement vocal et ses contributions sur l’album de LEXY) et T.O.P (il a joué dans un drama « I am Sam » et participer au clip des « Red Roc’s » pour la chanson « Hello »).
Mise à part ces ativités solo, le groupe à tout de même sorti un mini-album en août 2007, « Always »
où il a tenu un show le 19 août. Ce mini-album a bien été reçu par les
fans, et tout particulièrement la chanson écrite et composé de G-Dragon,
« 거짓말 ». Mais malgré le succés de cette chanson, G-Dragon à été accusé
de plagia par le groupe FreeTempo’s pour la chanson « Sky High ».
Big Bang continu de sortir sur le marché les titres de ce mini-album, qui leur a tout de même permis de remporter de nombreuses récompenses vers la fin de l’année 2007, tel que « le Meilleur Groupe Masculin » et « la Chanson de l’Année » du Festival de Musique M.NET/KM 2007.
Pour capitaliser le succès de leur mini-album, Big Bang annonce qu’ils vont sortir un album officiel en novembre. Cependant, un autre mini-album sort ayant droit la « Hot Issue« .
La promotion pour « Last Farewell« , la
chanson principale du mini-album a commencé tôt, alors que le groupe
apparaisait avec d’autres sons sur les plateaux TV. C’est à ce moment
là, que Big Bang donna son 2ème concert »BIGBANG is GREAT » dont les billets se sont liquidés au bout de 10 minutes !!!
En raison de trop de performance donnée, les membres
ont été hospitalisés pour épuisement, ce qui ne changea rien au succés
de leur chanson « Lies » qui leur permis de gagner une autre récompense, celle de la « Song of the Month Digital Music Award » du Cyworld, battant les autres concurrents à ce titre, Girl’s generation, Wonder Girls & F.T Island.
Coup fort pour 2008. Big Bang sort leur 1er mini-album en japonais, intitulé « For the world« . Il entra 14ème dans l’oricon pour atteindre la 10ème place, dû au manque de promotion. Big Bang tiendra tout de même un concert au « JCB hall in Tokyo Dome City »
les 28 et 29 mars 2008 et on l’intention de sortir un 2ème album en
japonais pour le mois d’avril. Et c’est en fin may que ce mini-album « With U » sort.
Après la réalisation de ce mini-album, Big Bang retourne en Corée pour y donner une tournée nationale, la « Global Warning Tour« .
